Learn More About Quakers

Home

Quakers, also known as the Religious Society of Friends, are a faith community with roots in 17th-century England. Today, Quakers come from many different backgrounds but share a common commitment to seeking truth, peace, and justice.

Quaker worship is based on silence: we gather together in stillness, waiting on the Spirit. Anyone present may feel moved to speak. We have no clergy, and all share responsibility for the life of our meetings.

Quaker values shape how we live – including simplicity, peace, integrity, community, equality, and care for the earth. These values lead us to work for social justice, climate action, and peacemaking, as well as nurturing spiritual growth in our daily lives.

If you are curious, the best way to learn is to come to a Quaker meeting for worship. Everyone is welcome.
